Meet Dan & Caitlin
Hey teachers! We are so glad you are here and a part of this club! The History Teachers Club is way more than just a podcast- its a club, a PLC, a community of passionate and enthusiastic teachers supporting and inspiring one another!
Aloha, I'm Dan!
I have taught on the Big Island on Hawai'i at a beautiful little, title-one, public high school. I grew up in New Jersey though thats not as exciting 🤣. I've taught a ton of classes over my twelve years in the classroom but my favorites have been AP US History (well, I love, hate it) and World History. I was the 2020 Hawai'i History Teacher of the Year for my engagement strategies and dynamic primary source lessons.
I also took a sabbatical in 2017 driving all over the country visiting 60 school and hundreds of teachers where I was able to collaborate with so many inspirational and transformative educators. Inspired to make a bigger difference, I created an engaging video curriculum with full lesson plans called History For Humans so teachers can cut the lecture and up the engagement. Every. Single. Day. I believe with every inch of my being that teaching is the most important profession in the world and we make the world a better place with our efforts.
Howdy! I'm Caitlin!
If you're looking for America's most excited and engaging history teacher, look no further! I absolutely love teaching, creating fun ways to teach tough topics in a culturally responsive matter and getting kids actively involved in social studies! I am an advocate for teachers and social studies education! And like Dan, I've taught it all :)
I've also presented at National Conferences like Get Your Teach On and I am available to come to your school, district, or conference. I'm an engagement specialist and can make any lesson a 100% engaged lesson!

Teaching is an amazing profession but it can be unrelenting in its demands of us- in and out of the classroom. Having a PLC like this one will help us get through the most challenging days and inspire us to make tomorrow's lesson something we still look forward to!
